EfficientIP announced the SOLIDserverâ„¢ 9.1 release, a major update designed to extend centralized network governance across hybrid cloud, edge, and virtualized environments. As infrastructure becomes increasingly decentralized, SOLIDserver 9.1 extends visibility and governance further into distributed DNS, DHCP, and virtual infrastructure, bringing them back under centralized DDI management. The release delivers four capabilities: DNS Cloud for Google Cloud Platform, DHCP Overlay for Fortinet FortiGate, Cloud Observer for Proxmox Virtualization Engine, and Network-Level Reconciliation within IPAM Data Reconciliation. Three of the four run on the SOLIDserver Universal Connector, which provides IT teams with the capability to manage multivendor DNS and DHCP services in overlay and discover virtual assets across hybrid and multicloud environments. No existing infrastructure is replaced and no per-vendor development is required.
Google Cloud DNS now joins Amazon Route 53 and Azure DNS in the SOLIDserver DNS Cloud overlay. Public and private GCP DNS zones and records are managed from the same platform already governing the other two providers, with one policy set and one audit trail spanning all three plus on-premise infrastructure.
SOLIDserver DHCP Overlay adds support for Fortinet FortiGate firewalls. Scope and range configuration is pushed from SOLIDserver to each device, and lease data flows back into IPAM automatically. FortiManager integration lets entire FortiGate fleets be added through a single connection, bringing distributed edge sites under DDI governance without new hardware.
Cloud Observer adds Proxmox Virtualization Engine to its discovery framework, alongside VMware vCenter and Cisco Meraki. Clusters, nodes, virtual machines, and containers are identified automatically and checked against IPAM records, with reconciliation triggered wherever the two diverge.
IPAM Data Reconciliation adds a network-layer engine, extending the IP and MAC-level matching delivered in Release 8.4 to VPCs, subnets, and network segments. Networks identified by Cloud Observer are checked automatically against IPAM definitions, with discrepancies flagged in a dedicated view and paired with recommended remediation steps.
