Purpose of the Role

As an International Compensation & Benefits (C&B) and Payroll Expert, you will design, manage and continuously improve global C&B and payroll processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and service quality across multiple countries.

You will partner with HR stakeholders, Finance, Legal/Compliance, Payroll vendors, and local HR teams to deliver a consistent employee experience and data-driven compensation decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Compensation & Benefits (C&B):

  • Support the design and maintenance of compensation frameworks (including salary structures, pay bands, job architecture..).
  • Build and maintain benefits programs (health insurance, life, disability, retirement, leave-related benefits, etc.).
  • Ensure compensation and benefits practices are aligned with HR strategy, market benchmarks, and internal equity principles.
  • Analyze compensation and benefits data (market benchmarks, cost impact, participation, and trends).
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of C&B policies and guidelines.
  • Support annual HR cycles such as salary reviews, bonus planning, and benefits renewals.

B.International Payroll Expertise:

In collaboration with the HR Operations manager, you will:

  • Support the end-to-end payroll process for international entities, including payroll calendars, manage input data in line with cut-off dates,
  • Support payroll review, reconciliation and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support accurate payroll processing by providing guidance for correct treatment of benefits, taxes, deductions, and employee lifecycle events (hires, changes, terminations).
  • Ensure payroll compliance with local regulations, internal controls, and data protection requirements.
  • Coordinate with Finance on payroll accounting outputs, including journal-ready data, accruals, and cost allocations.

C. Cross-functional & Continuous Improvement:

  • Act as a key HR Partner for C&B and payroll-related queries.
  • Contribute to process improvements, including SOPs, workflows, and automation.
  • Contribute to HR digitalization initiatives (HRIS, payroll systems, reporting tools).
  • Ensure strong internal controls and audit readiness for C&B and payroll processes.
  • Support international HR projects such as new country setups and process harmonization.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Compensation & Benefits and/or International Payroll.
  • Proven experience supporting multi-country payroll operations (in-house and/or vendor-managed).
  • Strong understanding of employment and international payroll concepts (contract types, benefits integration, deductions/tax basics, employee lifecycle events).
  • Experience with global or regional HR operating models (shared services, HR centers of excellence, HRBP partnership).
  • Background in HR analytics: ability to use payroll/C&B data to drive decisions and explain outcomes.

Key skills & Competencies:

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail (numbers accuracy, reconciliation logic, variance detection).
  • Strong knowledge of HR governance, compliance mindset, and control framework.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (able to explain complex C&B/payroll topics clearly).
  • Ability to work under time constraints (payroll deadlines, reporting cycles).
  • Proactive attitude and strong ownership.
  • Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus depending on geographies.

HR Tools & Systems:

  • HRIS and payroll systems experience (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, SAP HCM, ADP, Ceridian, etc.) or other HR platforms.
  • Advanced user of Excel or Google sheet (mandatory): modeling, reconciliation, pivot tables, dashboards.
  • Experience with HR reporting tools (Power BI / Tableau / similar) is a plus.
  • Ability to work with documentation and compliance records.

Compliance & Ethics:

  • Understand and apply applicable labor, payroll, and data protection requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee data and payroll information.
  • Follow internal control procedures and vendor governance.
